Although I slacked last week on E edition Friday, I thought I'd share this stimulating conversation I had with the girls we carpool with to dance. These girls are a precious group, each with their own unique personalities. After having a blast playing outside in the jeep, and giggling themselves cross-eyed, they hopped in the minivan, with a bag of candy hearts in hand, and settled into their seats for the short ride to dance. Here is our conversation, as best I can recall:
E: Do ya'll know that God is my very best friend in the whole world?
W: Mine too!
A.R.: Mine too!
A: Mine too!
E: He's bigger than anything in this whole world!
W: I love him!
A.R. Me too!
A: I know where he lives!
E and W: He lives in heaven!
E: and he's with us.
A: But I know where he sleeps.
W: God doesn't sleep!
A: yes he does!
(uh huh, nuh uh, etc. etc. continues for awhile)
A.R.: Miss Jennifer, does God sleep?
Me: Well, it says in the Bible that He never sleeps or slumbers, but it does say that when He created the earth, He rested.
At this point, they all just got quiet, and pondered the discussion.
How incredible that even at the tender age of 5, His children want to know Him more. I felt like I had just participated in a mini-worship service, right there in the minivan. I pray so much that God will always be our children's best friend.
Amazing things can be done with a jeep, a rope, and a wagon
