"Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pur them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away."
My friend Heather and her children came to visit yesterday, and left this afternoon. This quote keeps running through my head, because we had such a good time. Having been on this journey in a new town for a year now, although I've formed some wonderful friendships here, it is such a relief to spend time with an old friend. There is such comfort in it. I loved our relaxed (yet enthusiastic) conversation, cooking together, and laughing together. It just doesn't get any better than that, folks. If you haven't spend time with an old friend lately, pick up the phone and arrange it now! It's nothing but nourishment for the soul.
This is a picture of the 2 babies in the bathtub!
